MISSION

 

Chess and English is an educational program for children that aims to teach “English as a Foreign Language” (EFL) through the content of chess.

English has been described as “the language of opportunity” and we all know how challenging it can be to make young children learn it. For this reason we chose chess as a content for an English course in our program because we believe and have experienced that through playing chess the English class is fun and joyful for the children, meanwhile learning the basics of chess children will improve concentration, logic, social and decision-making skills.

Our educational program Chess and English combines all the benefits of EFL and chess education and thus can be an effective tool to make your English class more colourful and enjoyable where children are more motivated to participate.

WHAT DO WE OFFER

in Chess and English educational program?

 

The program that aims children between 5-8 years old comprises a series of student books, workbooks and trainings that prepare English teachers to learn the methodolgy that acredits them to run a Chess and English course.

As a first step a student book called Chess and English have been published with a beginner level chess content. In order to help you acquire the methodology we organize trainings for primary schools, language centres and for teachers of English. To participate in the trainings and therefore to become an accredited teacher of Chess and English, there is no need to know the rules of chess beforehand, the only requirement is to be a teacher of English.
